Revelation Week 12: Satan's Throne in Pergamos

In Chapter 2:12-17 Jesus tells us clearly that Satan lived in Pergamum (or Pergamos) and that his throne is even there! Pergamos is where Satan begins courting the church with temptation.

This is a recreation of the Throne of Zeus in Pergamos "Where Satan had his throne"

A few hundred years later, as seen in the prophetic underpinnings of the letter, he actually married the church under Constantine. This church is described as both the "compromising church" and the church "married to the world."

Next week, 11/14, we will see the progression of this infiltration when we study Thyatira in Chapter 2:18-29. Then, on 11/21, we will be investigating this amazing era we live in, called "The Church Age" or "The age of Grace."

Even more amazingly, we live nearer the end times than anyone in history, and we will look at the signs of the times. As Jesus said in Matthew 24:32-33,  “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.  So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!" God's wrath will soon be fully in bloom in this world! We can see the signs all around us, and we will be looking at those signs on 11/21. You don't want to miss it!

Remember the opening of the Book of Revelation: "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."

Come claim your blessing! Don't worry if you missed the beginning of this study. There is blessing in every verse.
